Volunteering in Indigenous Community Animal Health Programs

At Aboriginal Community Veterinary Services, we always strive to give the best outcomes for the animals in remote Indigenous communities throughout Australia. We pride ourselves in giving comprehensive programs and provide much needed worming, parasite control, vaccinations and desexing to animals in remote Indigenous communities. These are funded by local councils and Indigenous organisations, but budgets are limited. We are able to offer 1 to 2 positions per community for volunteers to help deliver effective programs. Volunteers must have experience in vet nursing or vet medicine. Volunteers will accompany our veterinary staff to these remote communities. Accommodation will be provided for all volunteers. Positions are limited. Our programs occur in Northern and Central Australia. You must be able to make your way to either Katherine or Alice Springs (date dependant).
